Presenting IDCheck — A Safer Shared Branch Experience
IDCheck is a new tool that helps make Shared Branching transactions safer when visiting a branch in another state. It allows participating credit unions to verify your identity, protecting your account and reducing the risk of fraud.
Starting May 1, 2025, withdrawals processed at a Shared Branch location in a state different from the one on your ID will require verification through IDCheck.
How IDCheck Works: Step-by-Step
1. Using your mobile device, scan the QR code located in the Shared Branch location.
2. Accept the Terms and Conditions, then type your credit union's name.
3. Enter your Member Number and the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.
4. Following the prompts, upload a photo of the front and back of your government-issued ID.
Good to know: Your ID is securely stored and can be used for future visits.
6. You will then be prompted to take and upload a selfie for identity confirmation.
Pro Tip: Your selfie is securely stored for future use, too!
7. After successful verification, you will receive a unique 6-digit code (valid for 20 minutes).
8. Show this code to the Teller and complete your transaction as usual.
